Job Description A bank in downtown Toronto is seeking an IT Business Analyst Contractor, for a 4-month contract that can be extended. Hybrid – 1 or 2 times a week in office, with the rest being worked from home! We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team and work on the conversion of a new business to our existing platform. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing the new business requirements and mapping them to our existing platform capabilities. You will also work closely with the development team to ensure that the new business requirements are effectively integrated into the steady state platform. -The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a high visibility to project. The bank is adding a new client to their Scene+ point program. Typical Day in Role Analyze the new business requirements and collaborate with technical teams on data mapping from the source application (Advent) to the steady state platform (MPower) Identify gaps between the new business’s requirements and the capabilities within MPower Collaborate with the development and project teams to create a plan for integrating the new business requirements into the steady state platform. Develop use cases and user stories to effectively communicate requirements to the development team and third-party vendors. Work closely with external vendors to update branding requirements on client facing materials Participate in the design and execution of test scenarios to ensure that the new business requirements are being effectively integrated. Perform user regression testing to ensure existing functionality continues to be unaffected by the new business integration. Provide regular status updates to project leads, management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements 7+ Years experience as a BA in a technical capacity 3-5 years prior experience with MPower Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems. Experience with Agile methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with software development lifecycles and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence. Familiarity with data analysis and modeling tools, such as SQL and Excel. Nice-To-Have Skills: • Previous Scotiabank Experience an asset Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Degrees or certifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Technical fields preferred, although experience is more important)
