A Bank in Downtown Toronto (WFH) is seeking Developer - Generic - 5 for a contract of 6 months 12/13/2021 + 6 months.
• Business group: Business Support & Engineering
• Project: New feature development work, as well as supporting the office of monitor requests.
• The Global Banking and Markets (GBM) Data Platform is a strategic data source for Bank GBM. Source systems transmit data to the GBM Data Platform for distribution to downstream subscribers. We are looking for creative, self-starting, results-oriented, highly motivated individual with attention to details and excellent problem-solving skills. In this role, you will need to multi-task and work in a fast paced and agile environment

Typical Day in Role
• Development and delivery data product via shared services, as well as supporting pipeline development work
• Conduct proof of concept on new technologies or solutions around data platform.
• Be hands-on. Design, Prototype, Configure - validate solutions rapidly to ensure we solve the right problems, in the right order.
• Be agile. Design, implement, iterate.
• Guide team members through technical issues and challenges
• Will support the office of monitor requests

| Job Requirements |
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 8+ years of hands on development experience in Core Java, SQL, and related technologies in an Agile development environment
• Strong understanding of core and server side Java programming.
• Deep understanding of web application architecture concepts, components, models, patterns
• Deep knowledge of a variety of technologies and frameworks (Kafka, Spark, Nifi, Elastic Search, etc.)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Good understanding of capital market data
• Experience in the banking industry
Soft Skills:
• Communication
• Proactive
• Stakeholder management
Best vs Average: The best candidate will have experience in platform related services, as well as capital markets data knowledge, and will be a strong Java developer.
