Job Description	A Bank in Downtown Toronto (WFH) is seeking Business Analyst - IT - 4 for a contract of ASAP to 10/31/2022. • Business group: Application Development • Project: Two roles available: o One role dealing with customer risk rating AML value stream: supporting this program o Other role will be working on a high profile project for ingesting new customer account and transaction data • Reason for request: Role will support the AML Customer Risk Rating value stream. Candidate Value Proposition - The successful candidate will have the opportunity work in a large scale data environment (enterprise data lake) in a leading financial institution Typical Day in Role - Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies - Takes requirements and does some data analysis work using SQL - Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers - Translates requirements for developers by creating out the mapping documents - Work with QA to address comments and concerns and relay requirements and goals - Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities - Supports one or more highly complex business processes - Works on multiple projects as a project team member - Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs - Create business solutions that increase competitive advantage - Exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Job Requirements	Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills: - 8+ years of experience in a similar Business/Data Systems analyst background – preferably within a FI or related large enterprise - 5+ years of experience analyzing data using SQL - 5+ years of experience working in data projects - 5+ years of experience in AML/KYC Nice-To-Have Skills: - Basic knowledge of programming languages in order to comprehend reading code and basic functions - Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions Soft Skills: - Self-starter that actively engages issues seeking resolution, ability to meet dynamic changes on prioritization - Ability to manage assigned tasks and expectations without direct instruction or oversight - Fast, adaptable learner who can hit the ground running - Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating strong professionalism - Excellent communications skills to coordinate with high ranking individuals internally (Director, VP level and up) -Strong investigation, prioritization, and organization skills - Candidate must have an open mind when it comes to approach, and be able to assess each situation separately - Must be able to collaborate closely with a team at times, while also being capable of holding themselves accountable to meet individual deadlines without hand holding Best vs Average: Development experience is valuable for communication purposes and to understand code on the project. Experience leading a team or small project management experience will beneficial to performance.
