Job Description A Bank in Downtown Toronto (WFH) is seeking Developer - Specialty / Niche - 5 for a contract of 1 Year + good chance of extension. Story behind the need: Reason for request: Commercial Banking is searching for four full stack developers with at least 5 years of experience with React and Spring frameworks. • Project Summary: Business Banking Technology team within Commercial banking is building a new software that will focus on a commercial customer onboarding project. Candidate Value Proposition: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with multiple business lines Globally, while building new and exciting technology Typical Day in the Role: • Develop new code and design solutions • Work closely with Business Partners and other Team Members throughout the project life cycle • Atten Daily Stand-up and regular Spring Meetings • Manage deliverables on 3-week sprints • Collaborate with other developers and serve as a mentor by conducting technical training sessions and reviewing project outputs • Maintaining and exemplifying industry best practices
Job Requirements Qualifications/Must Have skills: 1. At least 3+ years of prior work experience using authenticated, customer focused software 2. At least 5+ years of prior work experience with REST API design, Java Spring Boot 3. At least 5+ years of prior work experience with HTML / JavaScript / Typescript CSS 4. At least 3+ years of prior work experience with one modern JS framework – specifically, React 5. At least 3+ years of prior work experience with building accessible and web applications before (Java, J2EE) Soft Skills: - Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail - Exemplifies and stays up to date with industry best practice Nice to have: 1. FI or Banking experience is an asset Education Qualifications: Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required Candidate Review & Selection Process:1 Panel Interview with Hiring Manager and Team (Video through teams) Additional Notes: - 4 hires in total – half will focus on the front-end UI and half will be focused on the back-end development – but all need to have an understanding / knowledge with some experience on both ends of the spectrum (front and back-end development) - Role will be 80% creating net new code; 20% adding functions to existing code base Bank will review any requests for accommodations put forward by Suppliers
