Job Description	A Bank in Downtown Toronto (WFH) is seeking Capital Markets - Business Analyst - IT - 5 for a contract of 6 months (potential for extension or new opportunities). Business group: GWRT - Derivatives and Structured Product Technology- Inhouse system that manages everything related to energy and commodities trading (working in team to advance initiatives and potentially work to new business requirements). Project: Modernization of regulatory reporting framework (cross application project that pulls out all components that determine regulatory requirements). Working to identify how we extract and submit data to determine whether or not we need to do regulatory reporting. Candidate Value Proposition: - Chance to see new and diverse products within confines of modern technologies (commodities) - Opportunity to advance knowledge and understanding of grounding for regulatory projects and see regulatory regimes across multiple asset classes Typical Day in the role: - Pulling together existing commodity regulatory functions to complete analysis of existing information to direct and build the roadmap - Interfacing with regulatory groups to provide reports and data as required (diving into data, understanding it, completing analysis on enhancements on framework to satisfy new requirements) - Dissecting existing applications (match old to new) - Mentor and direct development staff - Regulatory reporting from a commodities perspective - Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
Job Requirements	Must have hard skills : 1. 7+ Business Analyst experience 2. 3- 5+ years SQL experience 3. 4+ years of regulatory/ compliance experience 4. 3+ years of energy commodities experience Nice to have skills: 1. Big data technology (KAFCA, Hadoop) 2. Testing experience Soft Skills: - A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level - Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions - Strong multitasking and time management skills - Teamwork skills Education/ years of overall experience: - Bachelor's degree or Masters, in either technical or finance space.
