A bank in Downtown Toronto is seeking an Analyst/Developer for a 3 month contract - (Renewable or may go full-time)... The Bank is seeking a Senior Application Support Developer with strong Java and SQL experience to provide ongoing support.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a fun, diverse and growing team while working flexible work hours.
Depending on the skillset and performance, the candidate will also have the opportunity to be assigned to project work and may also be converted to FTE.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Monitoring batch
- Working with infrastructure teams to do any type of modifications to the environment
- Troubleshooting any incidents raised to their level (level 3 – all technical issues)
- Working closely with product owner (present/explain technical requirements)
- Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
- Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
- Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
- Work is normally performed sitting for extended periods of time.

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) Proficiency in Java EE ( JSP/Servlets, Java Frameworks (Struts, Spring, JDBC, JUnit, and Hibernate), Java Performance tuning, SQL (database management using SQL in designing and creating complex queries) XSL, XML, HTML, JavaScript – 5+ years of hands on experience (altogether)
2) Experience in the Unix or Linux operating environment – 3+ years of experience
3) Ability to write technical/design reports in a variety of formats depending on the size of the request
4) Ability to read, analyze, interpret and present technical documents and technical procedures
5) Ability to analyze business operations and to organize system components into a logical solution for the user

Nice to Have
- Ajax, CSS, Perl, PHP, and shell scripting
- Experience with Microsoft .NET, Sharepoint and Info Path
- Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, and ASP .NET **** (highly preferred)
- Experience with ETL tools such as iWay or DataStage **** (highly preferred)
Degrees or certifications:
- Bachelors Degree preferred but open to other education
