Job Description A bank in Downtown Toronto is seeking a Senior Developer for a 6 month Contract Renewable. the GWRT-GCMT Derivatives Trading Technology is seeking a Senior Developer to assist with a project, which involves replacing an old system with a new one called Peak. This new system requires new features to be developed, as well as old ones to be modernized. The Senior Developer will be doing hands on coding and programming, while working closely with UI & UX Developers, and BAs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of one of the bank s Greenfield projects, while working with modernized technology and a friendly team. Typical Day in Role Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
Job Requirements Must Have Skills: 1) Java (5,6,7 or 8) 10+ years of hands on experience 2) Spring 5+ years of hands on experience 3) Database (any relational database, but SQL Server or Oracle are preferred) 3+ years of hands on experience 4) Working in Capital Markets environment or projects 4+ years of experience 5) Experience working for the Big 5 Canadian Banks or Large US Banks (i.e. CitiBank) Nice-To-Have Skills: - Full Stack experience with front-end technologies such as Angular or JavaScript - Experience with messaging technologies (such as EMS, GMS or Kafka) - Experience with Distributed Cashing (such as Hazecast, Gemfire, Redis) - Experience working in an Agile environment - Completion of Canadian Security Course (CSC) Degrees or certifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required Candidate Review & Selection 2 Step Process: 1 Phone Interview, 1 In Person Technical Panel Interview (will be required to do a technical assessment) Additional Notes Manager wants to see candidates who have: - Done long-term contracts - Consistently used the required technologies (in multiple projects) - Been in similar roles
