| Job Description |
A bank in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Business System Analyst for a 6 month contract renewable. The GBM Application Support is seeking a Business System Analyst to work on projects, which require assistance with data migration from EDL to Google Cloud. The Business System Analyst will be working closely with BAs and Developer to help facilitate this process and see how things can be efficiently done. The contractor will also be responsible for the technical delivery of this project.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a PLATO project, which will allow them to work with new technologies and modernized solutions, while being part of a very supportive and welcoming team.
Typical Day in Role
• Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
• Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member
• Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) Hands on experience with Hadoop– understanding components, how its integrated and how it works – 3+ years
2) Hands on experience with Cloud– preferably Google Cloud
3) Hands on experience with Linux – local and on cloud – 5+ years
4) Agile environment – 3+ years of experience
5) Strong communication skills – communicating with business and users
6) Attitude is most important – fast learner, positive individual looking for challenges***
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Certification in Google Cloud, Linux or Hadoop
- Python, Shell Scripting
- Knowledge on troubleshooting applications & coding for Developers
- Banking experience
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
