A bank in Scarborough is looking for an intermediate QA Analyst. (likelihood for extension & possibility to become FTE – pending performance & funding) Business group: IBSS - Compliance & Regulatory Reporting is seeking a new grad to fill the role of a junior Data Analyst/BA/QA for a Software Development based project that involves developing end to end reporting engines from scratch for the Caribbean countries.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get exposure to new technologies including Hadoop. This contract will also provide the contractor with many opportunities for growth and to branch out within bank, as well as potentially transition into a FTE.
Typical Day in Role
• Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
• Participate in data mining
• Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Prepare functional design documents to map between regulatory requirements and the Bank's globe database
• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
• Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
• Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) Bachelors Degree in Business Technology (highly preferred)*, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Economics & Statistics, or Finance
2) Knowledge and experience with R & VBA (6 months + of experience)
3) Knowledge on Data Mining (6 months + of experience)
4) Strong communications skills – verbal and written
5) Excellent knowledge on Excel – advanced functions, Macros (VBA),Vlook up, T-Sum, pivot tables (2+ years of hands on experience)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience with SQL – SSIS or SSRS
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience or knowledge of Python, C++, Cognos or DataStage
