Job Description A bank in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Senior Developer for a 6 month contract (they will have the opportunity to go full-time) – Cash Equity & Quantitative Trading Solutions is seeking a talented software developer to work with the ETF Services desk to develop and enhance their low-latency algorithmic trading capabilities. The Quantitative Trading Solutions group develops and operates bank's equity algorithmic trading systems, portfolio trading applications, ETF market-making operations and related technology systems. We are located with the electronic equity trading desk and work directly with all the business lines we support. Candidate Value Proposition ETFs are a key growth area and this is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the build-out of a substantial trading business and become an integral member of the team. Typical Day in Role • Enhancing our low-latency trading framework, optimizing handling of market data, product pricing, order sending, risk checks and other core system components. • Designing and developing trading strategies to establish and hedge positions in real-time, buying and selling ETFs, stocks, bonds, FX and related products. • Analyzing results to look for trading opportunities and ways to improve profitability. • Developing related infrastructure such as ETF composition and modelling, P&L calculation, book management etc.
Job Requirements Must Have Skills: 1) Experience in developing real-time event-driven applications in C++ (5+ years of hands on experience) 2) Experience with data structures, algorithms (testing algorithms), optimizing and designing for performance (2+ years of hands on experience) 3) Capital market experience – 1+ and/or related education such as CFA/FRM (Financial Risk Manager) designation 4) Understanding of trading flow research, analysis and impact cost models 5) Strong Communication Skills – will be working closely with Stakeholders & Developers Nice-To-Have Skills: • Background related to trading systems, ETFs, index arbitrage, market-making and similar areas • Experience with real-time trading systems (Fidessa, Portware, Flextrade, Tbricks, etc..) • Experience with Java programming/coding • Experience or knowledge of Itiviti TBRICKS • Experience or knowledge of streaming architecture • Experience with SQL – MSSQL or Cloud Based technologies • Exposure to asset classes in Capital Markets Degrees or certifications: • STEM post-secondary degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Candidate Review & Selection • 3 Step Process: Codility Test, 1 Panel Technical In-Person Interview, 1 Brief In Person Interview with Business • Interview to take place ASAP
