A bank in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Senior ODBA for a 3 month contract to begin (Renewable). The Senior ODBA is responsive for onfiguration, planning and installation/upgrades of Oracle servers. Performance and general health/capacity monitoring, tuning and load balancing. Routine maintenance including database rebuilds/re-indexing/expansion and archiving. Troubleshooting and assist in the resolution of application problems. Assist in promotions, data conversions, and backup/recovery.
This is primarily focused on the oracle DBA side. This resource will be supporting new projects, namely, global reconciliation and risk focus (infrastructures), project support (database refreshes, backup/recovery, annual BCP testing), on-going support (e.g., quarterly patching, performance analysis and tuning). This is a 24/7 environment so flexibility is required in terms of working shifts.

| Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills: 5) 8-10 years as an Oracle DBA and 5 + years with each skill
1) Oracle Enterprise
2) Performance tuning
3) Real Application Cluster (RAC)
4) Data Guard
5) Automatic Storage Management (ASM) (Highly preferred)
6) Previous banks experience is a nice to have
Degrees or certifications: OCP
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Minimum of 5 years professional experience as an Oracle DBA.
Proficiency in Oracle 9i-12c, database performance and tuning, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, security/auditing,
Practical knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager, Exadata, Golden Gate, Sun Solaris/Red Hat UNIX systems and utilities, shell scripting (Bourne or Korn), SQL*Loader/Datapump, PL/SQL, database backup/recovery and conversion/defragmentation techniques.
SOFT SKILLS
Good analytical, troubleshooting/problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Math, or related discipline.
Oracle DBA OCP certification is desirable.
