A bank in Downtown Toronto is looking for two Data Analysts for a 6 month contract.
Create, Update and Maintain Business Source to Target mapping for complex projects that requires technical knowledge.
Communicate transformation rules effectively to the development and the quality assurance team
Collaborate with Business Analysts and Solutions Architect to understand the business requirements and rules.
Profiling source system and documenting the results
Review Logical Data Model and understand the target data structure.
Understand data in order to identify data patterns to support adhoc requests from the business
Proven verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving & analytical skills to recognize data patterns, quantify potential issues and identify solutions
Disciplined self-starter, able to be highly productive both working alone and in close collaboration within a team
Passionate and knowledgeable about exploring and experimenting with Agile Methodologies and Data Science

(moving to Hadoop and Hive)- top initiative is the Migration of data warehouse to data lake. Data warehouse is DB2, ETL process is informatica. They have to enter data warehouse to data lake, Hadoop and hive. The resources need to understand ETW and re-create that in data lake. They should have the ability to analyze current state and translate current state to future. ETL process is written in python (Doesn’t need to write it) but need ot provide a source to target mapping specification. Need someone who will document and also profile data, provide specification, write programs to compare old to new. The manager is looking for development experience (coding is highly preferred). Not a traditional BSA but strong SQL and having the ability to write in some language (either SAS or Python). They will be interacting with solution architects, data modelers, developers/QA’s as well as scrum masters.

Must Have Skills:
1) data warehousing or analytics- 3+ years
2) SQL must have (worked on relational database)
3) SAS or Python- either of them are mandatory
4) communication skills are important
5) Hadoop, FI/Bank is preferred- Nice to have: SAS certification, Hadoop certification preferred
