Job Description |
A Class "A" bank with offices in Downtown Calgary is looking for a Technical Support person.
The main function of a Technical Support is to provide technical assistance to computer system users. A typical Technical Support is responsible for answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location.
• Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems, typically of a lower complexity
• May install software or perform hardware testing remotely
• Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors
• Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support
The manager requires immediate assistance on his team consisting of 3 tech support members within the Bank's oil and gas division. The location is in Downtown Calgary. This resources (x2) will manage user request, mobile devices, break fixes, standard day to day desktop support (raising ticket for service desk, remote tools etc) for bank employees.

Job Requirements |
Must Have Skills:
1) Overall 1-3 years’ experience
2) Technical skills- troubleshooting, hardware, software, networking issues
3) Great communication skills
4) Familiar with outlook/ Microsoft Office Suite
5) Nice to have: Service now, jira, mobile devices/ Iphone/Ipad,
Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree or Post-Secondary education
Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in computer related field or equivalent training required
• 1-3 years’ experience required
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time
• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
