Job Description A bank in Scarborough is looking for a Junior Technical Support Contractor. The main function of a Technical Support is to provide technical assistance to computer system users. A typical Technical Support is responsible for answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location. Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems, typically of a lower complexity May install software or perform hardware testing remotely Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. This is a technical support level 2 position.. This resource will be doing request and incident management (I.e., if problem within the infrastructure or applications) they will call and engage 3rd line teams, open bridge if needed, helping take some things away from the development team, updating tickets, password resets, access remotely into users computers. This resource will not be doing any access set up, the only admin part of the job will be if ID needs password reset or user is locked out of the system etc.
Job Requirements Must Have Skills: 1) Help Desk Experience 2) Request and Incident Management experience (preferred to have) 3) Knowledge of AS400, Service Now would be great 4) Great communication skills (Phone skills) 5) Nice to have: Spanish Degrees or certifications: Bachelor's degree or Post-Secondary education Associate's degree in computer related field or equivalent training required 2-4 years experience required Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills Basic ability to work independently and manage one s time Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
